B2001 Short to GND in Seat Belt Motor RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives collision information from the driving support ECU and skid control ECU via CAN communication and tightens the seat belt by operating the motor inside the front seat outer belt RH.

When DTC B2001 is stored, DTCs B2015, B2026 and B2027 are not stored.

B2001 During the initial check or with the ignition switch ON, the seat belt motor RH circuit has a ground short (the voltage at terminals MOR+ and MOR- is below 2 V) for 1 second or more.

CAUTION:

The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly RH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may activate the pretensioner.

  1. CHECK FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH CIRCUIT

      Disconnect the G117 ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G117-2 (MOR+) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
      G117-1 (MOR-) - Body ground

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT RH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)

      Disconnect the Q3 belt connector.

    2. Disconnect the G117 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Q3-2 (MOR-) - Body ground
