DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor RH detects an open in the outer rear view mirror indicator RH.

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • The blind spot monitor system is on

  • The current flowing to the indicator is below a specified value when indicator operation voltage is being sent to the indicator

  • Outer mirror RH (outer rear view mirror indicator RH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly RH

  • Harness or connector

  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • Outer mirror control ECU assembly RH

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor system is on.

  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      DTC C1AB5 is not output.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the R43 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the J12 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R43-4 (OMIR) - J12-13 (BDSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      J12-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Result
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly RH.

    2. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J12-13 (BDSR) - z19-8 (BDIR) Always Below 1 Ω
      J12-7 (GND) - z19-12 (HTR-) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Disconnect the z19 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the IND1 outer rear view mirror RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z19-8 (BDIR) - IND1-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      z19-12 (HTR-) - IND1-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Proceed to

  5. CHECK OUTER MIRROR RH


    1. Replace the outer mirror RH.

      Click here

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      DTC C1AB5 is not output.
