TOYOTA PARKING ASSIST-SENSOR SYSTEM(w/o Multi-display) Rear Clearance Sonar Sensor RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The ultrasonic sensor sends and receives ultrasonic waves. Based on the received wave, the sensor calculates the approximate distance between the vehicle and obstacle and sends the distance value as a signal to the clearance warning ECU.

PROCEDURE


  1. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR CORNER SENSOR RH)


    1. Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor with a normally functioning sensor Click here.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CORNER SENSOR RH - REAR CENTER SENSOR RH)


    1. Disconnect the U7 No. 1 clearance sensor (rear corner sensor RH) connector.

    2. Disconnect the U6 No. 1 clearance sensor (rear center sensor RH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U7-1 (BI) - U6-2 (BO) Always Below 1 Ω
      U7-3 (SI) - U6-4 (SO) Always Below 1 Ω
      U7-5 (EI) - U6-6 (EO) Always Below 1 Ω
      U7-1 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U7-3 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U7-5 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
