DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends the back-up light switch signals to the clearance warning ECU.

  1. INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. B001G4VE01

      Disconnect the C41*1 or C160*2 back-up light switch assembly connector.

      *1: for 1GR-FE, 2TR-FE, 5L-E

      *2: for 1KD-FTV, 1GD-FTV

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Pushed Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 Released 10 kΩ or higher

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH - BATTERY)


    1. B001H61E01

      Disconnect the C41*1 or C160*2 back-up light switch assembly connector.

      *1: for 1GR-FE, 2TR-FE, 5L-E

      *2: for 1KD-FTV, 1GD-FTV

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      for 1GR-FE, 2TR-FE, 5L-E
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C41-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      C41-2 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the I8 clearance warning ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the C41*1 or C160*2 back-up light switch assembly connector.

      *1: for 1GR-FE, 2TR-FE, 5L-E

      *2: for 1KD-FTV, 1GD-FTV

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for 1GR-FE, 2TR-FE, 5L-E
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-21 (RL) - C41-1 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I8-21 (RL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for 1KD-FTV, 1GD-FTV
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-21 (RL) - C160-1 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I8-21 (RL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
