AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM(for Radio and Display Type) Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the radio and display receiver assembly and steering pad switch assembly illumination when the headlight dimmer switch is in the tail or head position.

Tech Tips

When replacing the radio and display receiver assembly, it is necessary to perform the vehicle contract setting for Connected Services (w/ Connected Services Function).

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION


    1. Check if the illumination for the radio and display receiver assembly, steering pad switch assembly or others (hazard switch etc.) comes on when the headlight dimmer switch is turned to the head or tail position.

      Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch assembly. A
      Illumination comes on for all components except radio and display receiver assembly. B

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL)

      Disconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the H49 and H51 radio and display receiver assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the G208 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H51-23 (SWG) - G208-3 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      H49-7 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H51-23 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
