AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM(for Radio Receiver Type) Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the radio receiver assembly and steering pad switch assembly illumination when the headlight dimmer switch is in the tail or head position.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION


    1. Check if the illumination for the radio receiver assembly, steering pad switch assembly or others (hazard switch etc.) comes on when the headlight dimmer switch is turned to the head or tail position.

      Result

      Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch assembly. A
      Illumination comes on for all components except radio receiver assembly. B
      No illumination comes on (radio receiver assembly, steering pad switch, hazard switch, heater control switch, etc.). C

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL)

      Disconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      G40-12 (IL+2) - Body ground Light control switch in the tail or head position 11 to 14 V

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly Click here.

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly Click here.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H46 and H47 radio receiver assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the G40 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H47-23 (SWG) - G40-4 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      H46-7 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H47-23 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVING SUPPORT SWITCH CONTROL ECU - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the G40 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G76*1 or G163*2 driving support switch control ECU connector.


      • *1: for Manual Transmission

      • *2: for Automatic Transmission

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for Manual Transmission

      G40-10 (GND1) - G76-4 (SWI2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G76-16 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G76-4 (SWI2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
