  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note


    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE STEERING PAD

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guide pins, remove the No. 1 steering wheel ornament.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT

  6. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch)

      Remove the 4 screws.

      B001DLW Remove in this Direction (1)
      B001GS8 Remove in this Direction (2)

      While pushing the steering pad switch assembly in the direction shown by the arrow (1) in the illustration to disengage the claw, pull the steering pad switch assembly in the direction shown by the arrow (2) in the illustration to disengage the guide pin.

      B001GS8 Remove in this Direction (2)

      While pushing the steering pad switch assembly in the direction shown by the arrow (1) in the illustration to disengage the claw, pull the steering pad switch assembly in the direction shown by the arrow (2) in the illustration to disengage the guide pin.

    4. Remove the part from the steering wheel sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for both sides.

  7. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH (w/ Steering Pad Switch)

  8. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

  9. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering wheel set nut.

      Put matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft.

    3. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

  10. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER (w/ Steering Shake Damper)

      Remove the 2 screws and remove the steering shake damper.

  11. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL BOSS LOWER COVER (w/o Steering Heater)


    1. B001DRQ

      Detach the 6 claws remove the steering wheel boss lower cover.
