After replacing the steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU), confirm the lock/unlock operation of the steering lock.
If checking for DTCs of the entry and start system or if checking the Data List with the engine switch off, make sure that the driver door is open.
Tech Tips
When using the intelligent tester with the engine switch off to troubleshoot, connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.
When a steering lock system DTC is output, confirm and record the DTCs before turning the engine switch off or clearing the DTCs, as past DTCs are not stored in the certification ECU.
