Note

When the vehicle is stopped, mode switching may be unavailable due to the phase of the transfer assembly powertrain. There is no malfunction if mode switching is available after the vehicle is moved.

    1. Disconnect the C43 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8 (HM1) - 7 (HM2) Always 1.5 to 100 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (HIGH-LOW TRANSFER SHIFT MOTOR)


    1. Disconnect the G54 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the C43 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G54-2 (HM1) - C43-8 (HM1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G54-6 (HM2) - C43-7 (HM2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G54-2 (HM1) or C43-8 (HM1) - G54-6 (HM2) or C43-7 (HM2) Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (HIGH-LOW TRANSFER LIMIT SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the G53 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the C43 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      G53-8 (HL1) - C43-12 (HL1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G53-7 (HL2) - C43-11 (HL2) Always Below 1 Ω
      C43-6 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Remove the transfer shift actuator assembly Click here.

    3. Check the high-low transfer limit switch of the transfer shift actuator assembly Click here.

    2. Disconnect the C43 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      G54-8 (TM1) - C43-2 (TM1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G54-7 (TM2) - C43-1 (TM2) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the G53 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the C43 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

    3. for Hydraulic Brake Booster:

      Disconnect the A7 skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) connector.

      for Vacuum Brake Booster:

      Disconnect the A6 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    4. for 2TR-FE (Automatic Transmission):

      Disconnect the G181 ECM connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G53-10 (TL2) - C43-4 (TL2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G53-9 (TL3) - C43-5 (TL3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G53-3 (P1) - C43-9 (CDL) Always Below 1 Ω
      C43-10 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C43-6 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
