COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start))

      Component without harness connected

      (Combination Switch Assembly (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start)))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      14 (2ND) - 24 (E) Combination switch (2nd Start) pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      Combination switch (2nd Start) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start)).

      Component without harness connected

      (Combination Switch Assembly (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start)))

      Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the combination switch assembly (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start)), and check the illumination condition of the combination switch assembly (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start)).

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 13 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 12 (ILL-)

      Illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly (w/ Module Switch (2nd Start)).

  2. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start))

      Component without harness connected

      (Pattern Select Switch Assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (2ND) - 2 (E) Pattern select switch (2nd Start) pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      Pattern select switch (2nd Start) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)).

    2. B001EQNC02
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Pattern Select Switch Assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)))

      Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the pattern select switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)), and check the illumination condition of the pattern select switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)).

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 6 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 1 (ILL-)

      Illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)).

  3. INSPECT NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start))

      (No. 2 Combination Switch Assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      14 (2ND) - 24 (E) No. 2 combination switch (2nd Start) pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      No. 2 combination switch (2nd Start) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 combination switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)).

      Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the No. 2 combination switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)), and check the illumination condition of the No. 2 combination switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)).

      Battery positive (+) → 13 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 12 (ILL-)

      Illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 combination switch assembly (w/o Module Switch (2nd Start)).

  4. INSPECT ECO MODE SWITCH (Drive Mode)

      (Eco Mode Switch (Drive Mode))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (SPORT) - 5 (GND) SPORT mode switch pushed and held Below 10 Ω
      SPORT mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (NORMAL) - 5 (GND) NORMAL mode switch pushed and held Below 10 Ω
      NORMAL mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      6 (COMF ECO) - 5 (GND) COMF ECO mode switch pushed and held Below 10 Ω
      COMF ECO mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the eco mode switch (Drive Mode).

    2. B001CMMC02

      Component without harness connected

      (Eco Mode Switch (Drive Mode))

      Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the eco mode switch (Drive Mode), and check the illumination condition of the eco mode switch (Drive Mode).

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 1 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 10 (ILL-)

      Illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the eco mode switch (Drive Mode).
