CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Cruise Main Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The ECM illuminates the cruise control indicator by sending indicator output demand signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication. The cruise control indicator illuminates when the cruise control system is turned on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button).
w/ Multi-information Display:

The cruise control indicator light illuminates when the cruise control system has been turned on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF). If a malfunction is detected, the cruise control indicator light goes off and a warning message is displayed.
w/o Multi-information Display:

The cruise control indicator light in the combination meter assembly changes to yellow when a malfunction occurs during cruise control driving.
The cruise control indicator light circuit uses CAN communication. If the cruise control indicator light is not functioning correctly, check for CAN communication DTCs before troubleshooting this circuit.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
Before replacing the ECM refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

w/ Multi-information Display:

Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.
