DESCRIPTION

In the dynamic radar cruise control system, the ECM and driving support ECU communicate with one another to control the system based on certain designation information. If the designation information of the ECM and driving support ECU are different or the driving support ECU is malfunctioning, this DTC is stored.

P1617 While the vehicle speed is 50 km/h (31 mph) or more with the cruise control switch on, a designation signal from the ECM and a designation return signal from the driving support ECU do not match or the driving support ECU is malfunctioning for 1 second.

When the driving support ECU or ECM is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CONFIRM DESIGNATION INFORMATION


    1. Confirm the designation information.


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Turn the cruise control switch on.

      3. With the brake pedal depressed, push the cruise control switch to +RES 3 times within 3 seconds. Check that the skid control buzzer sounds at this time.

        OK
        The skid control buzzer sounds (initialization is performed).

        Note


        • Do not turn the light control switch on at this time as doing so causes the beam axis to deviate. If the light control switch is turned on by mistake, readjust the beam axis Click here.

        • If initialization cannot be performed, first inspect the stop light switch circuit, cruise control switch circuit and skid control buzzer circuit.

      4. Turn the ignition switch off.
