This DTC is stored when the vehicle stability control system has a problem. Check the vehicle stability control system when DTC P1578 is stored.

  • This DTC may be output by the vehicle stability control system at the same time. In that case, perform troubleshooting for the vehicle stability control system first.

  • Before replacing the ECM refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)


    1. Check for DTCs.

      for Vehicle stability control system (for Hydraulic brake booster): Click here

      for Vehicle stability control system (for Vacuum brake booster): Click here

      Vehicle stability control system DTCs are not output.

    NG

    GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM for Vehicle stability control system (for Hydraulic brake booster): Click here
    GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM for Vehicle stability control system (for Vacuum brake booster): Click here

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)


    1. Clear the DTCs.

    2. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.

      2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button).

      3. Push the cruise control main switch to -SET to begin control of vehicle speed using the cruise control system.

    3. Check for DTCs.
