THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM(for 5L-E) Security Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the theft deterrent system is in the disarmed state, the security indicator light will blink if the immobiliser system is set, or not illuminate if the immobiliser system is not set.

When the theft deterrent system is in the armed state, the security indicator light blinks.

When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state or alarm sounding state, the security indicator light illuminates.

Before performing the inspection, check "Security Indicator Light Does not Blink" in ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (Security Indicator)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List
      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Security Indicator Security indicator ON or OFF

      The test is possible when the following conditions are met:


      • The key is in the ignition key cylinder
      OK
      Security indicator illuminates when operated through the GTS.
      Result
      Proceed to

  2. INSPECT DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the driver side junction block assembly.

      Click here

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
