WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM(w/ Entry and Start System) OPERATION CHECK

  1. NOTICES WHEN CHECKING

    1. Wireless door lock/unlock function:

The wireless door lock control function operates only when the following conditions are met:

      • The engine switch is off.

      • All the doors and the glass hatch* are closed.

        Tech Tips

The unlock function operates even when one of the doors or the glass hatch* is open.

      • There is no electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the cabin.

      • The power door lock control system is functioning normally.

      • The function is not disabled by customization.

    2. The size of the wireless door lock control operation area differs depending on the situation.

      1. The size of the operation area differs depending on the user and the way the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held.

      2. In certain areas, the wireless door lock control function will only operate partially for the operation area, which will be reduced due to the vehicle body shape and the influence of the surrounding environment.

      3. Since the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly uses weak radio waves, strong radio waves or electrical noise in the frequency used by the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly may reduce the size of the operation area and the wireless door lock control may not function.

      4. When the transmitter battery is weak, the size of the operation area is reduced and the wireless door lock control may not function.

        Tech Tips

        • If the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly has been left in a place that is exposed to direct sunlight, such as on the instrument panel, it may cause the transmitter battery to be weakened or cause other related problems.

        • Do not place the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly near magnetic equipment, such as digital audio players, induction cookers, medical devices that generate low-frequency electromagnetic waves, etc.

  2. Note

The operation check below is based on the non-customized initial condition of the vehicle.

CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM

    Tech Tips

    • The switches described below transmit signals and are built into the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

    • The operational area of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly must be taken into account while checks are being made.

    1. Make sure the vehicle is in a condition in which the wireless door lock control functions can be operated (see above).

    2. Check the basic functions:

      • Check that the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly LED illuminates 3 times when each switch is pressed 3 times.

        Tech Tips

If the transmitter LED illuminates once or twice but not a third time when the switch has been pressed and held for 5 seconds or more, it may have a weak transmitter battery.

      • Check that when the lock switch is pressed, all the doors lock.

      • Check that when the unlock switch is pressed, all the doors unlock.

      • Check that when the glass hatch open switch is pressed for approximately 1 second or more, the glass hatch opens.*

    3. Check the chattering prevention function:

      • If a switch is pressed, check that the corresponding operation is performed only once. If the switch is held down, check that the corresponding operation occurs only once and does not repeatedly activate. Lastly, if a switch is pressed at 1 second intervals, check that the corresponding operation activates once for every press of the switch.

    4. Check the answer-back function:

      • When the lock switch is pressed, check that the hazard warning lights flash once and the buzzer* sounds once simultaneously with the locking operation of all the doors.

      • When the unlock switch is pressed once, check that the hazard warning lights flash twice and the buzzer* sounds twice simultaneously with the unlocking operation of all the doors.

    5. Check the automatic lock function:

      • When all of the doors are unlocked with the unlock switch and the doors and glass hatch*1 are not opened or locked within 30 seconds*2, check that the doors lock again.

      • *1: w/ Glass Hatch Opener System

        Tech Tips

*2: The automatic lock function time (30 seconds) applies only if the setting of this function is the default.

    6. Check the switch operation fail-safe function:

      • Check that the doors cannot be locked/unlocked when operating a switch on an unregistered electrical key transmitter sub-assembly, but that the doors can be locked/unlocked when operating a switch on the registered electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

    7. Check the door ajar warning function:

      • If a door or the glass hatch* is open or not completely closed, check that the doors cannot be locked by the lock switch and the buzzer sounds for 5 seconds.

        Tech Tips

The buzzer stops sounding if one of the following conditions is met:

        • The buzzer has sounded for 5 seconds.

        • The engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG).

        • All the doors and the glass hatch* are closed.
