WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM(w/ Entry and Start System) PRECAUTION

  1. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING GTS

    1. When using the GTS with the vehicle engine switch off, connect the GTS to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and the vehicle begins. Then select Model Code "KEY REGIST" under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start(CAN). While using the GTS, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the GTS and the vehicle.

    2. After all DTCs are cleared, check if the malfunction occurs again 6 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

  2. DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER EXPRESSIONS

    1. The type of door control receiver used on this model differs depending on the specifications of the vehicles. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.

Vehicle Specification Part Name in Manual Actual Part Name
for 12 Pin Type Door control receiver Electrical key & TPMS receiver assembly
except 12 Pin Type Door control receiver Smart door control receiver assembly
  3. PRECAUTION WHEN REPLACING CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

    1. Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to Service Bulletin.

  4. PRECAUTION WHEN REPLACING DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER (for 12 Pin Type)

    1. When replacing the door control receiver, read the transmitter IDs (tire pressure warning system) stored in the old ECU using the GTS and write them down before removal.

    2. It is necessary to perform initialization after registration of the transmitter IDs into the door control receiver if the door control receiver has been replaced.

  5. PRECAUTION WHEN REPLACING MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    *: w/ Door Control Battery

    1. If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to the Service Bulletin.

    2. As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-Vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.*

    3. If the ECU-B fuse (the main power source fuse of the main body ECU [multiplex network body ECU]) is removed with the door control battery charged, power will be supplied to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the door control battery for up to 30 minutes. At this time, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) will be able to function with the ECU-B fuse (the main power source fuse of the main body ECU [multiplex network body ECU]) removed.*

  6. PRECAUTIONS FOR ELECTRICAL KEY TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is a precision instrument. Be sure to observe the following:

      1. Do not subject the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly to strong physical shocks.

      2. Do not keep the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in a high temperature area for a long time.

      3. Do not use an ultrasonic washing machine to clean the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

      4. Do not use the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly near any magnets or magnetized items.

      5. Do not place the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly near magnetic equipment, such as digital audio players, induction cookers, medical devices that generate low-frequency electromagnetic waves, etc.

      6. Do not attach any stickers to the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

      7. Do not disassemble the electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies.

      8. The mechanical key should only be used in an emergency, such as when the transmitter battery is depleted.
