CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

      Using SST, compress the compression spring and remove the 2 valve spring retainer locks.

    2. Remove the spring retainer, compression spring, valve and spring seat.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the valves, compression springs, spring seats and spring retainers in the correct order.

  2. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

      Using SST, compress the compression spring and remove the 2 valve spring retainer locks.

    2. Remove the spring retainer, compression spring, valve and spring seat.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the valves, compression springs, spring seats and spring retainers in the correct order.

  3. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL


    1. A01XFMH

      Using needle-nose pliers, remove the oil seal.

  4. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE STEM OIL SEAL


    1. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the oil seal.

  5. REMOVE SEMICIRCULAR PLUG

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG

    Tech Tips

    If the No. 1 straight screw plug is corroded, replace it.


    1. Using a 6 mm hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 straight screw plugs.

  7. REMOVE STUD BOLT

    Tech Tips

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.


    1. Remove the stud bolts.
