DESCRIPTION
The No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for EGR Bypass Valve) is controlled by the ECM, and the opening and closing of the EGR cooler bypass valve is performed according to the vacuum applied by the vacuum pump.

Tech Tips
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for EGR Bypass Valve) connector.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for EGR Bypass Valve) connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Repair or replace the harness or connector.
Tech Tips
If the voltage at the vacuum switching valve assembly (for EGR Bypass Valve) connector is not 11 to 14 V, repair or replace the harness and connector between the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for EGR Bypass Valve) and No. 1 integration relay.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Clear the DTCs Click here.
Turn the engine switch off wait 30 seconds.
Turn the engine switch on (IG) for 3 seconds or more.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Confirm that the DTC is not output again.
