ECD SYSTEM(w/ Urea SCR System), Diagnostic DTC:P202B, P202C

DTC Code DTC Name
P202B Reductant Tank Heater Control Circuit Low
P202C Reductant Tank Heater Control Circuit High

DESCRIPTION

An electric heater is provided inside the urea tank and urea pipe, as urea solution freezes at -11°C (12.2°F) or lower.

The heater thaws frozen urea solution and prevents further freezing, allowing the urea SCR system to be started even in cold environments.

The tank heater turns ON and OFF according to the value of the temperature sensor. The heater for the urea tube with heater assembly turns ON and OFF according to the value of the ambient temperature sensor.

Tech Tips

Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
