DTC Detection Drive Pattern	DTC Detection Condition	Trouble Area
Engine switch on (IG) for 5 seconds or more. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Accel Sens. No.1 Volt %, and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt %. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal until Accel Sens. No.1 Volt % is approximately 30% and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt % is approximately 46%, then slowly release the accelerator pedal.	Either of the following conditions is met (1 trip detection logic): Difference between VPA and VPA2 is less than 0.4 V, or higher than 1.2 V. (learned value of accelerator off position) Difference between VPA and VPA2 is greater than or equal to the specified value.	Accelerator pedal sensor assembly ECM

Tech Tips

Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

READ VALUE USING GTS (ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR)

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Accel Sens. No.1 Volt % and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt %.

Read the values.

1. Replace the accelerator pedal sensor assembly Click here.

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P2121)

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Clear the DTCs Click here.
Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
Wait for 5 seconds after turning the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Operate the accelerator pedal in accordance with the following procedure [B].
1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Primary / Accel Sens. No.1 Volt %, and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt %.
2. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal until Accel Sens. No.1 Volt % is approximately 30% and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt % is approximately 46%, then slowly release the accelerator pedal.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

Read the DTCs.

CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED
1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
2. Clear the DTCs Click here.
3. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
4. Wait for 5 seconds after turning the engine switch on (IG).
5. Turn the GTS on.
6. Operate the accelerator pedal in accordance with the following procedure [B].
  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Primary / Accel Sens. No.1 Volt %, and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt %.
  2. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal until Accel Sens. No.1 Volt % is approximately 30% and Accel Sens. No.2 Volt % is approximately 46%, then slowly release the accelerator pedal.
7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
8. Confirm that the DTC is not output again.
