STARTER(for 3.0 kW Type) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from terminal C.

   2. Remove the 2 bolts.

   3. Pull out the starter yoke together with the starter armature from the magnet switch.

2. REMOVE MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the 3 screws and magnet starter switch.

   2.

      *4	Clutch Roller
      *5	Retainer
      *6	Starter Clutch
      *7	Starter Housing

      Remove the return spring, pinion gear, idler gear, clutch roller, retainer and starter clutch from the starter housing.

   3.

      *1	Magnet Hand

      Using a magnet hand, remove the steel ball from the clutch shaft hole.

3. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Disconnect the 4 starter yoke brushes from the starter brush holder.

      
      

      1. Using a screwdriver, pull back the spring.

      2. Disconnect the brush from the starter brush holder.

   2. Remove the starter brush holder from the starter yoke.

   3. Remove the O-ring.

4. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Place matchmarks on the starter yoke and commutator end frame.

   2. Remove the starter armature together with the commutator end frame.

   3. Remove the O-ring.

   4. 

      Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the end frame to remove the starter armature from the commutator end frame.
