ENGINE OIL COOLER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean the contact surfaces of the oil filter bracket sub-assembly and oil cooler assembly.

    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the oil cooler assembly.

    3. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the threads of the oil cooler union bolt.

      Align the protrusion of the oil filter bracket with the cutout of the oil cooler assembly.

    5. Install the oil cooler assembly with the plate washer and oil cooler union bolt.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

    6. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose and No. 5 water by-pass hose to the oil cooler assembly, and slide the 2 clamps to secure the hoses.

  4. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL

  5. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  6. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  7. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK
