POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Auto Up Operation does not Fully Close Power Window (Jam Protection Function is Activated)

DESCRIPTION

If a front door glass or the power window regulator motor assembly (for driver door) or power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger door) does not operate smoothly, the jam protection function may be triggered automatically, resulting in the auto up operation being unable to fully close the window.

  • If the power window regulator motor assembly (for driver door) or power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger door) has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system Click here.


  • If the power window regulator motor assembly (for driver door) or power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger door) and door window regulator sub-assembly have been removed and installed, or if the power window regulator motor assembly (for driver door) or power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger door) was reused when a door glass or door glass run was replaced, initialize the power window control system Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION)


    1. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly (applicable location) Click here.


    NEXT

  2. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (AUTO UP / DOWN FUNCTION (APPLICABLE LOCATION))


    1. Check that each power window moves when the auto up and down function of the power window regulator master switch assembly or power window regulator switch assembly is operated Click here.

      OK
      Auto up and down function is normal (applicable location).

    CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION) Click here

    OK

    END (PROBLEM DUE TO INITIALIZATION FAILURE)

  3. CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION)


    1. Remove the window regulator.

    2. Install the window glass to the door glass run.

    3. Check if the door window regulator operates smoothly.

    4. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand.

      CAUTION:

      Perform initialization again.

      Tech Tips

      Ensure the following:


      • The window glass fits in the glass run without improper contact or deformation.

      • Foreign matter is not caught in the glass run.
