DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Wiper Signal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU assembly detects that the wipers are operating at high speed, the dynamic radar cruise control system control of vehicle speed is canceled.

Note

Inspect the fuse for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY

      (to Driving Support ECU Assembly)

      Disconnect the I183 driving support ECU assembly connector.

    2. Set the windshield wiper switch assembly to the HI position.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I183-32 (WIP2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG), windshield wiper switch assembly HI position 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the power switch OFF.

    5. Reconnect the I183 driving support ECU assembly connector.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I183 driving support ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the I32 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I183-32 (WIP2) - I32-4 (+2) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I183-32 (WIP2) or I32-4 (+2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the I183 driving support ECU assembly connector.

    5. Reconnect the I32 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.
