DTC SUMMARY

MALFUNCTION DESCRIPTION

The power management control ECU and airbag sensor assembly detect that a collision has occurred and shut off the system main relay.

The cause of this DTC may be one of the following:


  1. Collision is detected

  2. Detection sensor system malfunction


    • Airbag system malfunction

    • Power management control ECU malfunction

    • Communication malfunction between airbag sensor assembly and power management control ECU

    • Power management control ECU communication malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The power management control ECU receives a signal that indicates a collision from the airbag sensor assembly to detect a collision. After detecting a collision, the power management control ECU shuts off the high voltage systems for safety.

Tech Tips

If P1606-308 or 317 is output, the vehicle cannot start unless the DTCs are cleared using the Techstream.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


  1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

    1. Check the vehicle condition.

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      P0A1D is output at the same time. A
      Other than above. B

    5. Turn the power switch off.

  3. CHECK INFORMATION CODE


    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Access the freeze frame data of DTC P1606 and read the INF code.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.
