AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the light control switch to the AUTO position.
Cover the automatic light control sensor.
Check that the taillights/rear side marker lights and low beam headlights come on.
Uncover the automatic light control sensor.
Check that the low beam headlights and taillights/rear side marker lights go off.
LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Side Turn Signal Light)
Close the driver door.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the light control switch to the tail, head or AUTO position.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Open the driver door.
Check that all of the lights go off immediately.
LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/o Side Turn Signal Light)
When the taillights/rear side marker lights come on (low beam headlights do not come on)
Close all of the doors.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the taillights/rear side marker lights on.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Open the driver door.
Check that all of the lights go off immediately.
When the low beam headlights come on
Close all of the doors.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the low beam headlights on.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Open any of the doors.
Close the door.
Check that all of the lights go off after 30 seconds (delay function).
Tech Tips
Before the lights go off, if the lock button on the key is pushed after all of the doors are locked, all of the lights will go off immediately.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
Headlight dimmer switch with DRL OFF function:
Start the engine.
Turn the light control switch to the tail or AUTO position (check that the low beam headlights are not turned on via the automatic light control system).
Release the parking brake.
Check that the daytime running lights come on.
Check that the daytime running lights turn off when a turn signal switch or the hazard warning light switch is turned on while the daytime running lights are illuminated.
When the daytime running lights are turned off due to a turn signal switch or the hazard warning light switch being on, check that the daytime running lights illuminate when a turn signal switch or the hazard warning light switch is turned off.
Headlight dimmer switch without DRL OFF function:
Start the engine.
Turn the light control switch to the off, tail or AUTO position (check that the low beam headlights are not turned on via the automatic light control system).
Release the parking brake.
Check that the daytime running lights come on.
Check that the daytime running lights turn off when a turn signal switch or the hazard warning light switch is turned on while the daytime running lights are illuminated.
When the daytime running lights are turned off due to a turn signal switch or the hazard warning light switch being on, check that the daytime running lights illuminate when a turn signal switch or the hazard warning light switch is turned off.
