(to Solar Sensor (Automatic Light Control Sensor))

Disconnect the solar sensor (automatic light control sensor) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I61-6 (CLTB) - I61-3 (CLTE)*1 Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      I61-6 (CLTB) - I61-3 (CLTE)*1 Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      I184-6 (CLTB) - I184-3 (CLTE)*2 Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      I184-6 (CLTB) - I184-3 (CLTE)*2 Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      • *2: for 6 Speakers

If the voltage is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

Reconnect the solar sensor (automatic light control sensor) connector.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I61-1 (TSL) - I61-3 (CLTE)*1 Sensor is exposed to electric light 0.8 to 4.3 V
      I61-1 (TSL) - I61-3 (CLTE)*1 Sensor is covered with a cloth Below 0.8 V
      I61-2 (TSR) - I61-3 (CLTE)*1 Sensor is exposed to electric light 0.8 to 4.3 V
      I61-2 (TSR) - I61-3 (CLTE)*1 Sensor is covered with a cloth Below 0.8 V
      I184-1 (TSL) - I184-3 (CLTE)*2 Sensor is exposed to electric light 0.8 to 4.3 V
      I184-1 (TSL) - I184-3 (CLTE)*2 Sensor is covered with a cloth Below 0.8 V
      I184-2 (TSR) - I1841-3 (CLTE)*2 Sensor is exposed to electric light 0.8 to 4.3 V
      I184-2 (TSR) - I184-3 (CLTE)*2 Sensor is covered with a cloth Below 0.8 V

      • *2: for 6 Speakers

      Note

      • The connection procedure for using a digital tester such as a TOYOTA electrical tester is shown above. When using an analog tester, connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (2) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 of the solar sensor (automatic light control sensor).

      • Do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

      Tech Tips

      • Use an incandescent light for inspection. Bring it within about 30 cm (11.8 in.) of the solar sensor (automatic light control sensor).

      • As the inspection light is moved away from the sensor, the voltage decreases.

If the voltage is not as specified, replace the solar sensor (automatic light control sensor).
