DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INPUT SIGNAL CHECK

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    2. Check the cruise control main switch using the Data List function of the Techstream (ON-OFF, -/SET, +/RES, CANCEL and MODE).

  2. INSPECT MODE SWITCH

    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Turn the dynamic radar cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button). Then push the cruise control main switch to MODE and hold in that position for 1 second or more to change to constant speed control mode.

      (Constant speed control mode)

      Check that the cruise control indicator (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) goes off and the cruise control indicator (constant speed control mode) illuminates.

      Note

      Do not push any other switches before pushing the cruise control main switch to MODE. If another switch is pushed, turn the dynamic radar cruise control system off and repeat the procedure.

      Tech Tips

      If a malfunction is detected, turn the engine switch off and repeat the procedure.

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Turn the dynamic radar cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button).

    3. Press the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch of the steering pad switch assembly.

    4. Check that the indication of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance, which is shown on the combination meter assembly (multi-information display), changes from long to middle to short in that order.
