Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  • When removing the No. 1 black out tape LH, No. 3 black out tape LH, No. 4 black out tape LH and front door rear window frame moulding LH, heat the vehicle body, No. 1 black out tape LH, No. 3 black out tape LH, No. 4 black out tape LH and front door rear window frame moulding LH using a heat light.

Front Door Rear Window Frame Moulding LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body, No. 1 black out tape LH, No. 3 black out tape LH, No. 4 black out tape LH and front door rear window frame moulding LH excessively.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT LOWER DOOR FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

      w/o Spot Cover:


      1. Detach the 6 clips, and remove the upper part of the front door weatherstrip LH so that the black out tape can be removed.

    2. w/ Spot Cover:


      1. Remove the front door weatherstrip LH Click here.

  18. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the No. 1 black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.

  19. REMOVE NO. 3 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the No. 3 black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.

  20. REMOVE NO. 4 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the No. 4 black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
