Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  • When removing the No. 2 black out tape LH, No. 6 black out tape LH, upper inner black out tape LH, rear inner black out tape LH, and rear door front window frame moulding LH, heat the vehicle body, No. 2 black out tape LH, No. 6 black out tape LH, upper inner black out tape LH, rear inner black out tape LH, and rear door front window frame moulding LH using a heat light.

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body, No. 2 black out tape LH, No. 6 black out tape LH, upper inner black out tape LH, rear inner black out tape LH, and rear door front window frame moulding LH excessively.

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

      w/o Spot Cover:


      1. Detach the 4 clips, and remove the upper part of the rear door weatherstrip LH so that the black out tape can be removed.

    2. w/ Spot Cover:


      1. Remove the rear door weatherstrip LH Click here.

  19. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the No. 2 black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.

  20. REMOVE NO. 6 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the No. 6 black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.

  21. REMOVE UPPER INNER BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the upper inner black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.

  22. REMOVE REAR INNER BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Pull back an edge of the rear inner black out tape LH and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
