REAR BUMPER(w/ Pintle Hook) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM BRACKET LH


    1. Install the rear bumper arm bracket LH with the 2 bolts.

    2. Attach the clamp.

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM BRACKET


    1. Install the rear bumper arm bracket with the bolt.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for both bumper arm brackets.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER NO. 2 REINFORCEMENT


    1. Install the rear bumper No. 2 reinforcement with the 2 bolts.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH


    1. Attach the 6 claws to install the rear bumper side support LH.

    2. Install the 3 screws.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH


    1. Attach the 2 clips to install the rear bumper upper retainer LH.

  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE COVER PROTECTOR


    1. Install the No. 2 luggage compartment side cover protector with 2 new grommets.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE COVER PROTECTOR

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER

    Tech Tips

    For the rear bumper cover with tire carrier, use the procedures described below.


    1. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System or w/ Rear Fog Light:

      Connect the No. 2 frame wire connector.

    2. Attach the 14 claws to install the rear bumper cover.

    3. Install the 7 bolts, 6 screws and 2 clips.

    4. Open the tail gate and install the 4 clips.

    5. Close the tail gate.

  13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER NO. 1 PLATE (for Step)


    1. Attach the 20 claws to install the rear bumper No. 1 plate.

  16. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Tire Carrier)

  19. INSTALL PINTLE HOOK ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the pintle hook assembly and pintle hook bracket with the 2 bolts, 2 eyelet pintle hooks and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      for nut
      65 N*m  { 663 kgf*cm, 48 ft.*lbf }

    2. For vehicles with a spare installed to the underbody, install the spare tire.
