DESCRIPTION

When the stop light switch is turned on, current flows to the stop lights to illuminate them.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STOP LIGHT SWITCH)


    1. Operate the intelligent tester according to the display and select the "Data List".

      Disconnect the A39 relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A39-6 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Disconnect the A30 stop light switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the A39 relay connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A30-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT BRAKE LIGHT RELAY (BRK LP RELAY)

      Remove the brake light relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      3 - 5 Battery voltage not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Remove the brake light relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the A39 stop light control relay connector.

    1. Temporarily replace the stop light control relay with a new or normally functioning one.

    2. Check the stop light operation.

      1. Disconnect the K4 light connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Brake light relay terminal 3 - K4-5 (STP) Always Below 1 Ω
        K4-3 (E) - Body ground
        K4-5 (STP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    3. for RH:


      1. Disconnect the L3 light connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Disconnect the S4 light connector.
