PROCEDURE
INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LHD, for RHD LH Side)
w/o Rain Sensor
Check the front wiper intermittent operation.
| *a | Component with harness connected (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly) |
Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal E16-3 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal E15-4 (EW).
Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check the voltage between terminals E16-3 (+1) and E15-4 (EW).
| OK |
|---|
| Voltage changes as shown in the illustration. |
| *1 | Connect battery negative (-) lead to terminal E16-1 (+S) |
| *2 | 11 to 14 V |
| *3 | Voltage between terminals E16-3 (+1) and E15-4 (EW) |
| *4 | 3.3 +/- 1 second |
If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
Check the front washer operation.
| *a | Component with harness connected (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly) |
Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal E15-7 (WF) and a negative (-) lead to terminal E15-4 (EW).
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals E15-7 (WF) and E15-4 (EW).
| OK |
|---|
| Voltage changes as shown in the following illustration. |
If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
