BACK DOOR SUPPORT REMOVAL

Note


  • While holding the back door, remove the back door support.

  • Do not touch the extendable portion of the rod to prevent foreign objects from attaching to the rod surface.

  • Do not push sideways on the rod because the rod may bend.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01X3PU

      Remove the bolt in the order shown in the illustration.

      CAUTION:

      Remove the door stay while supporting the back door with one hand.

    2. A01X8COC01
      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, remove the stop ring as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY BRACKET UPPER LH


    1. A01X4Z6

      Remove the 2 bolts and remove back door damper stay bracket upper LH.

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY BOLT

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, remove the stop ring as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Release the ball joint and remove the back door stay bolt.
