BACK DOOR SUPPORT INSTALLATION

  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY BOLT


    1. When replacing the back door stay bolt with a new one:


      1. Clean the threaded surface on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

    2. When reusing the back door stay bolt:


      1. Clean the threaded surface on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

      2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

        Adhesive
        Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
    3. A01XAGP

      Install the back door stay bolt.

      Torque:
      17.5 N*m  { 178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY BRACKET UPPER LH


    1. When replacing the back door stay bracket upper LH with a new one:


      1. Clean the threaded surface on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

    2. When reusing the back door stay bracket upper LH:


      1. Clean the threaded surface on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

      2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the 2 bolts.

        Adhesive
        Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
    3. A01X4Z6

      Tighten the 2 bolts to install the back door damper stay bracket upper LH.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH


    1. When reusing the back door stay:


      1. Install the 2 stop rings to the back door stay assembly LH.

    2. Install the back door stay assembly LH to back door stay bracket upper LH.

      Note

      Check that the back door stay assembly is engaged in the ball joint and that the back door support assembly cannot be pulled out.

    3. Install the back door stay assembly LH to back door stay bolt.

      Note

      Check that the back door stay assembly is engaged in the ball joint and that the back door support assembly cannot be pulled out.
