SEAT HEATER SYSTEM TERMINALS OF ECU


  1. AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the E35 and E36 seat air conditioning amplifier connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Terminal No. (Symbol) Condition Specified Condition
      E36-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E36-5 (IG+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      E36-6 (+B1) -Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    3. Reconnect the E35 and E36 seat air conditioning amplifier connectors.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Terminal No. (Symbol) Condition Specified Condition
      E36-15 (SHP+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG), Seat heater switch (for Front Driver Side) on Below 1 V
      E36-16 (SHD+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG), Seat heater switch (for Front Passenger Side) on Below 1 V
      E36-28 (BLIN) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation
