DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly receives pre-crash safety system cancel on/off signals from the pre-crash system cancel switch assembly.

Note

When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PRE-CRASH SYSTEM CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the pre-crash system cancel switch assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the pre-crash system cancel switch assembly Click here

    OK
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PRE-CRASH SYSTEM CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the E170 pre-crash system cancel switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the E164 driving support ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E170-8 (ECU) - E164-5 (PBSW) Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly off 10k Ω or higher
      Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly on Below 1 Ω

    NG
    OK
  3. CHECK DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the driving support ECU assembly with a new or known good one Click here

    2. The pre-crash system cancel switch assembly is turned off.

    3. Check the PCS indicator light in the combination meter assembly.

      OK
      The PCS indicator light will illuminate.
