  • Use the same procedures for the RHD and LHD.

  • The procedures listed below are the LHD side.

PROCEDURE


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH CUSHION

  4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Floor Under Cover)

  6. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 bolts.

      A01XBKJE01
      *1 for LHD:
      *2 for RHD:

    2. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front passenger side knee airbag.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
