DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when there is a LIN communication problem between the main body ECU and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or when there is a problem in the engine immobiliser system.

When either of the following conditions is met:


  • Communication or the communication line is abnormal among the main body ECU, certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), steering lock ECU and ID code box (immobiliser code ECU).

  • The immobiliser system malfunctions.

  • Main body ECU

  • Engine switch

  • Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)

  • Key

  • Engine immobiliser system

  • Harness or connector

  1. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check whether DTC B2289 is output.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))

    *1 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Main Body ECU)
    *2 Front view of wire harness connector: (to Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly))

    1. Disconnect the 2D main body ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the E29 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2D-20 (LIN1) - E29-10 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      2D-20 (LIN) or E29-10 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU


    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

    2. Check whether DTC B2289 is output.

      OK
      No DTC is output.

    OK
