ENTRY AND START SYSTEM(for Entry Function) Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the front passenger side door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. The part at fault may be a touch sensor circuit (certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) → front passenger side door outside handle → front passenger side door electrical key oscillator).

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the master switch assembly door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      OK
      Door locks operate normally.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

      ON: Front passenger side door unlocked

      OFF: Front passenger side door locked

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (TOUCH SENSOR)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      ON: Touch sensor touched

      OFF: Touch sensor not touched

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)


    1. Disconnect the E29 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the z22 or z24 oscillator connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD

      E29-6 (SEL2) - z22-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E29-23 (SEN2) - z22-6 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω
      E29-6 (SEL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E29-23 (SEN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E29-6 (SEL2) - z24-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E29-23 (SEN2) - z24-6 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω
      E29-6 (SEL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)


    1. Disconnect the z21 or z23 handle connector.

    2. Disconnect the z22 or z24 oscillator connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD

      z21-6 (SGT) - z22-2 (SGT) Always Below 1 Ω
      z21-6 (SGT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD

      z23-6 (SGT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
