PROCEDURE
FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
After the engine switch is turned off, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
REMOVE STEERING PAD (w/ Airbag System)
REMOVE STEERING PAD (w/o Airbag System)
Tech Tips
Refer to the step "REMOVE STEERING PAD (w/ Airbag System)".
REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch)
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 screws.
Detach the 4 claws and remove the steering pad switch.
REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)
REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Remove the steering wheel set nut.

Put matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft.
Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.
REMOVE STEERING WHEEL HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Heater)
REMOVE STEERING PAD COVER LH (w/o Steering Pad Switch)
Remove the screw and 3 guide pins, remove the steering pad cover.
REMOVE STEERING PAD COVER RH (w/o Steering Pad Switch)
Tech Tips
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER
Remove the 2 screws and remove the steering shake damper.
REMOVE STEERING WHEEL BOSS LOWER COVER
Remove the 2 screws and 4 claws, and remove the steering wheel boss lower cover.
