REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY(w/ Differential Lock) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Install a new gasket.

   2. Install the differential carrier with the 10 washers and 10 nuts.

      Torque:

      72 N*m  { 734 kgf*cm, 53 ft.*lbf }

   3. 

      Connect the differential lock shift actuator and No. 4 transfer indicator switch clamps.

   4. Connect the breather hose.

2. CONNECT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Text in Illustration

      *1	Bolt
      *2	Washer
      *3	Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks on the yoke and differential flange.

   2. Connect the propeller shaft with the 4 bolts, 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Torque:

      88 N*m  { 900 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }

3. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCK ACTUATOR PROTECTOR

   
   

   1. 

      Install the protector with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:

      35 N*m  { 357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf }

4. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL PROTECTOR ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Attach the protector with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:

      15 N*m  { 150 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

   2. Connect the 2 connector clamps and wire harness clamp.

      Note

      Make sure the wire harness of the No. 4 transfer indicator switch fits inside the protector.

5. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT

   
   

   1. Install the rear axle shaft Click here.

6. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL
