FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

Tech Tips

The procedure described below is for the LH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

PROCEDURE


  1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

  2. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the front drive shaft Click here.

  3. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL


    1. A01WZOSE12

      Using SST, tap out the 2 oil seals.

  4. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL


    1. A01X75FE16
      *1 LH Side:
      *2 RH Side:
      *3 Differential
      *4 Seal

      Apply MP grease to 2 new oil seals.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the 2 oil seals.

      09950-70010   ( 09951-07100 )

      Note

      Make sure the LH and RH oil seals are installed in the proper locations.

      Standard Oil Seal Depth
      Side Specified Condition
      LH -0.45 to 0.45 mm (-0.0177 to 0.0177 in.)
      RH 4.8 to 5.8 mm (0.189 to 0.228 in.)

  5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the front drive shaft Click here.

  6. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL
