TRANSFER OIL ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK TRANSFER OIL

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the filler plug and gasket.

   2. 

      *1

      0 to 5 mm

      Check that the oil level is between 0 to 5.0 mm (0 to 0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the filler plug hole.

      If the result is not as specified, add transfer oil.

      Viscosity
      SAE 75W

      Standard Capacity
      1.4 to 1.5 liters (1.5 to 1.6 US qts, 1.2 to 1.3 Imp. qts)

      Note

      Too much or too little oil will lead to transfer problems.

   3. When the oil level is too low, check for oil leaks.

   4. 

      Install a new gasket onto the filler plug and then tighten the plug.

      Torque:

      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

2. ADD TRANSFER OIL

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the filler plug and gasket.

   2. Add oil so that the oil level is between 0 to 5.0 mm (0 to 0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the filler plug hole.

      Note

      
      

      • Add oil slowly.

      • Add oil a little at a time, waiting several minutes between each addition of oil.

   3. Wait approximately 5 minutes and check that the oil level has not changed.

   4. 

      Install a new gasket onto the filler plug and then tighten the plug.

      Torque:

      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
