MANUAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION OIL

    *1 0 to 5 mm
    *2 (0 to 0.196 in.)

    1. Park the vehicle in a level place.

    2. Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.

    3. Check that the oil level is within 5 mm (0.196 in.) of the lowest point of the transmission filler plug opening.

      If the result is not as specified, add transmission oil.

      SAE 75W-90
      Standard Capacity
      3.0 liters (3.2 US qts, 2.6 Imp. qts)

      Note


      • Problems may occur when the oil level is too high or low.

      • After replacing the oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.

    4. Inspect for oil leaks when the oil level is low.

    5. Install a new gasket and the transmission filler plug.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 380 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
