PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Apply the parking brake and turn the engine switch on (IG).

   2. Depress the brake pedal and check that the engine starts when the shift lever is in N or P, but does not start in other positions.

   3. Check that the back-up light illuminates and the reverse warning buzzer sounds only when the shift lever is in R.
