CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Clutch Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the clutch pedal is released, the ECM receives positive (+) battery voltage through the LH-IG fuse. While depressing the clutch pedal, the clutch switch sends a signal to terminal D*1 or CLSW*2 of the ECM. The ECM cancels cruise control when terminal D*1 or CLSW*2 receives the signal.

  1. INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the clutch switch assembly.


    2. Inspect the clutch switch assembly.

      Disconnect the A50*1 or e2*2 clutch switch assembly connector.


      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

      A50*1-1 - Body ground

      e2*2-1 - Body ground

      Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition Switch off Below 1 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the C45*1, C46*2 or A38*3 ECM connector.

      Tech Tips


      • *1: for 1GR-FE (LHD)

      • *2: for 1GR-FE (RHD) and 1VD-FTV (RHD)

      • *3: for 1VD-FTV (LHD)

    2. Disconnect the A50*1 or e2*2 clutch switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
