CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Clutch Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the clutch pedal is released, the ECM receives positive (+) battery voltage through the LH-IG fuse. While depressing the clutch pedal, the clutch switch sends a signal to terminal D*1 or CLSW*2 of the ECM. The ECM cancels cruise control when terminal D*1 or CLSW*2 receives the signal.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUSE (LH-IG)


    1. Remove the LH-IG fuse from the main body ECU.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      LH-IG fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPLACE FUSE

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY)


    1. Disconnect the C45*1, C46*2, A38*3 or A52*4 ECM connector.

      Tech Tips


      • *1: for 1GR-FE LHD

      • *2: for 1GR-FE RHD

      • *3: for 1VD-FTV LHD

      • *4: for 1VD-FTV RHD

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 Component without harness connected: (Clutch Switch Assembly)
      *2 Pushed

      Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Remove the clutch switch assembly (See page for LHD, Click here for RHD).

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Pushed (On) Below 1 Ω
      Not pushed (Off) 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
