DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor RH detects an open in the outer rear view mirror indicator RH.

Both of the following conditions are met:


  • The blind spot monitor main switch (steering pad switch assembly [multi-function switch]) is on.


  • The current flowing to the indicator is below a specified value when indicator operation voltage is being sent to the indicator.

  • Outer rear view mirror RH (outer rear view mirror indicator RH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly RH

  • Harness or connector

  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • Outer mirror control ECU assembly RH

Note

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (steering pad switch assembly [multi-function switch]) is on.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the r1 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the I38 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      r1-4 (OMIR) - I38-13 (BDSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly RH Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      I38-13 (BDSR) - I37-8 (BDIR) Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-7 (GND) - I37-12 (HTR-) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH)


    1. Disconnect the I37 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the I32 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I37-8 (BDIR) - I32-15 (BSR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I37-12 (HTR-) - I32-17 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Disconnect the I32 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the IND1 outer rear view mirror RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I32-15 (BSR+) - IND1-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I32-17 (-) - IND1-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH Click here

  6. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR RH


    1. Replace the outer rear view mirror RH Click here.

    2. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    OK
