DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor LH detects an open in the outer rear view mirror indicator LH.

Both of the following conditions are met:


  • The blind spot monitor main switch (steering pad switch assembly [multi-function switch]) is on.


  • The current flowing to the indicator is below a specified value when indicator operation voltage is being sent to the indicator.

  • Outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly LH

  • Harness or connector

  • Blind spot monitor sensor LH

  • Outer mirror control ECU assembly LH

Note

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (steering pad switch assembly [multi-function switch]) is on.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the r2 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the I41 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      r2-4 (OMIR) - I41-13 (BDSL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I41-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      I41-13 (BDSL) - I40-8 (BDIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I41-7 (GND) - I40-12 (HTR-) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the I40 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the I35 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I40-8 (BDIL) - I35-15 (BSL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I40-12 (HTR-) - I35-17 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Disconnect the I35 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the IND2 outer rear view mirror LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I35-15 (BSL+) - IND2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I35-17 (-) - IND2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH Click here

  6. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH


    1. Replace the outer rear view mirror LH Click here.

    2. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    OK
